Design philosophy:
To produce a light, responsive, beachable catamaran, which will give performance sailing experience for up to 12 people while being fully compliant with EC charter regulations.
To be able to send it anywhere in the world in a 40ft container (including mast).
The basic design to be adaptable and upgradeable to:- a) High performance specification for racing and club use. b) Weekend fast cruising.
Overall the design must be attractive and eye catching, engender a feeling of safety and comfort with lots of space, be practical and easy to sail and maintain, yet have a sparkling performance.
Lines and styling:
To be modern, practical and aesthetically pleasing, in the style of the Industry leading, French maxi race catamarans.
Hulls/ Decks:
To have a low form-drag while providing good lateral resistance without dagger boards and be able to take the ground or beach regularly, with lifting rudders. Fore and aft buoyancy distributed to minimise:- a) The tendency of all high-speed catamarans, to bury the lee bow at speed, b) Weight distribution problems associated with up to 12 passengers on board. Trampolines in centre section with netting forward. Hiking seats for helmsman and crew.
